Countless Blessings (return to top)
Our 2nd Annual Banquet was a success thanks to many of you who supported us not only during this event, but throughout the year prayerfully, financially and through your service. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on God’s countless blessings this past year.
The highlight of the evening was the testimonies from two of our precious clients. As you know we are about Prevention and Recovery. Our first testimony was from one of our very own volunteers who went through our Post Abortion Healing process. She shared about the blessings and healing she received from God and how as a volunteer she is helping other women to know that they can also be truly forgiven and set free. Our second testimony was given by our first save, a young woman who entered HPC in her first trimester abortion minded but left with the intent of carrying and parenting her baby. At the banquet she shared her story of how God has worked in her life and how HPC helped her make the decision to choose life. To God be the glory for these wonderful testimonies.
The evening began with a silent auction and ended with a live auction. We were incredibly blessed to have over 40 different items donated from designer perfume to a condo vacation in Mammoth.
One of the most incredible blessings was through your generous donations. In total, we raised over $44,000 in cash and pledges. We praise God for providing us the opportunity to fulfill our mission of Prevention and Recovery. Thank you again for your support. What is the true
meaning of love? (return to top)
At
Golden West College’s Annual Contraceptive Fair, HPC
provided the key for every student’s success. We
were the “Best Protection” information booth along
with other groups offering information and contraceptive samples. We
offered “Free, 100% protection” by providing students
information about STDs, reasons to wait to have sex until marriage
and empowering them to make the best decision for themselves. Many
students were blown away by the devastating results of STDs
and hopefully forever changed by the truth and hope they have
to make positive choices in their lives.
What more appropriate day to be sharing
the true meaning of love, than on Valentines Day. On February 14th, 2007,
HPC was at Golden West College’s annual contraceptive
fair providing information to students about the issues that
face them today: STDs, cervical cancer, date rape, unplanned
pregnancies and the list goes on. With all of this information
the students could not help but admit that the best choice
for them is to abstain from sex until marriage. That speaks
true love to the person they might marry someday.
In a day and age where people are
searching for truth, one student asked boldly, what is the
most important thing I need to know? The answer is
simple, make a decision today to save sex until marriage
because there is no safe sex out there that is going to guarantee
protection from a broken heart or an incurable STD.
Unfortunately, some students shared their
own personal stories of how STDs have affected their lives and
if only they had known before maybe they would have made better
choices. Now,
it is up to those students who heard the message, who know the
truth to make a decision to protect themselves and the lives
of others. It is our goal at HPC to deliver the message
of “safe sex”; because prevention is where it begins… |

Volunteer of the
Month (return to top)
A
special tribute goes to our volunteer of the month, Rickelle
Dickerson who has officially been given the title “Community
Resources Liaison”. Rickelle is not your typical
volunteer, she is truly our Samaritan. She is a person
that goes beyond her duties to help others. She admits
that when she sees a mother or father with a baby that is in
need she will ask them if they need anything and will deliver
as needed. Recently, Rickelle met a young woman who
had just had twins that were sleeping in baskets with hardly
any clothes and blankets. We were able to provide this
family with many items including bottles, diapers, clothes,
blankets and a pack and play.
The maternity and baby items that
have been donated by many of you have found homes thanks
to Rickelle. She connects
people in the community with HPC. When Rickelle meets
people with extreme needs through her job and involvement in
the community she provides them with items that have been donated
to us. Through your generous contributions and donations
HPC has been able to help families who are struggling.
One family in particular is a young,
single father who is raising two little ones on his own. Rickelle helped him to get
child care, insurance and provide him with clothes, shoes and
a double stroller that had been donated. Rickelle has extensive
knowledge about local social services and is the person we often
contact when we need referrals to give to our clients. We
are very blessed to have Rickelle on our team, as well as all
of you who support us in this ministry. |

Hope Help Line (return
to top)
We
now have a 24 hour 7 days a week help line that is available
to our clients anytime they call. All calls dialed to
our office number are forwarded to our HPC cell phone. We
started our help line in February and have had several clients
who have called during non business hours which are generally
M-F, 8:30- 5:30.
It is important that our clients reach
a live voice when they call, especially when they are in
crisis. One young girl
called in the morning that was out of our area and was desperately
trying to reach someone. She called other centers that
were closed early in the morning and thankfully was able to
reach us. This young girl was skipping school and was
burdened by the reality of being young, scared and pregnant. She
just needed someone to talk to about her thoughts of contemplating
an abortion. The conversation lasted an hour, but by
the end she had a pretty good idea that abortion was not the
answer to her perceived problem. We pray that our help
line can offer hope to many more who call in their time of
crisis. |

Join in Welcoming
our new Executive Director (return
to top)
Join
us in welcoming Kunica Salazar as Horizon Pregnancy Center’s
new Executive Director. On January 1st, Kunica will become
our second Executive Director following in the courageous footsteps
of our founding director, Ms. Amy Miller, who will remain on
Horizon’s Advisory Board of Directors.
Earlier this year, the HPC Board of
Directors joined together in prayer that God would prepare
the heart of our new director ahead of our eventual meeting,
prearrange our paths and bless us with the discernment required
to identify each other. After a 7-month, extensive nationwide
search, following our Inaugural Banquet, our prayers were
answered in God’s perfect timing.
Kunica recently relocated with her
husband Li, from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Upon arriving
in Huntington Beach, she immediately looked for a pregnancy
center to volunteer her time – feeling
God’s call to serve in ministry prior to looking for
a full-time position. Within 2 weeks of relocating, she found
HPC on the Internet and called to volunteer. Driven to serve,
yet experienced to lead, it was clear that God had answered
our prayers.
While in Florida, Kunica was a Child-Birth
Educator with Covenant House specializing in at-risk pregnancies
and teen mother counseling. In addition, she provided parenting
and life skill sessions through Florida’s Healthy Start
programs.
Prior to working with Covenant House,
Kunica worked for Care Net Pregnancy Center/Best Choice Educational
Services, in Albuquerque, NM. There she conducted presentations
to middle school and high school teens on the subjects of
Teen Pregnancy, STI’s
and Abstinence Education. She also developed and presented
a curriculum at New Mexico Public Service Company’s Annual
Youth Expo in 2003 and 2004 – not to mention also being
a guest speaker for a girl’s conference on purity.
Kunica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Foreign Languages and Linguistics from the University
of New Mexico, being fluent in English, Spanish and Japanese.
This will be Kunica’s
first ED role and we look forward to growing together with
her. We welcome you to stop by the Center this January to meet
Kunica and see what incredible progress we have made at the
Center over the last year. |

HPC speaks the truth at local High School (return to top)
HPC was a guest along with Planned Parenthood at La Quinta high school’s annual Speakers Symposium. We had the opportunity to speak to over 150 students on some of the pertinent issues that are facing them today: Teen Pregnancy, Abortion and STDs. When asked what is the best way to protect yourself from an unplanned pregnancy and STDs, students boldly raised their hands and shouted the answer.
For them and many other youth today the best answer is abstinence. It is no surprise that the students already know the truth. Their testimonies and bold responses can only encourage their fellow class mates to be abstinent and accomplish the goals that they have for themselves.
The mixed messages we are hearing in the media that Abstinence education does not work is combated by the evidence demonstrated by the students’ responses at our local school. Many students, girls and boys expressed that they were going to wait until marriage. They were not ashamed, but proud of their bold commitments to wait. Students were eager to know how to overcome the pressures that face them today. Our hope is that we can continue to encourage and provide education to our youth to make positive choices. If you would like HPC to speak to your youth group, home school group or school please let us know as we now have a curriculum on the following topics: Teen Pregnancy, STDs, Relationships, Abstinence and Refusal Skills. |

One Save at a Time! (return to top)
Often we receive phone calls requesting abortions. Our answer of course is that we do not provide abortions nor refer, however we can give you more information about your options. One day we received a desperate phone call for an abortion referral. When we gave our answer the woman nearly hung up, but was asked would you like to come in. That was the question that would get our client to come in and make a courageous choice to choose life.
It is our goal to give our clients all the information they will need to make the best choice for themselves. This woman was nearly about ready to have an abortion, but because she came in and spoke to one of our own volunteers she was able to evaluate her options and make the choice to keep her baby. All she needed was the facts and the encouragement to carry out her decision. We praise God that He has allowed us to be here serving women and families who are in crisis. |

Miracles do not cease (return to top)
Horizon Pregnancy Center has been officially marked and can be easily found in the Town and Country Center in Huntington Beach. As many of you experienced, it used to be very challenging to find our location without any signage. By the grace of God we not only have 1 but 2 signs outside our door. One as you see in the picture and also on the Main Entrance window indicating our services. Thank you for your prayers, God is faithful and we have already had 3 walk-ins so far. |

What we don’t know about the Morning After Pill (return to top)
It was a school night, approximately 9:35 PM and we received a phone from a distressed teenager. She asked with an anxious voice “Do you guys have the morning after pill because I think I may be pregnant?” For the past several months we have been receiving phone calls requesting this sought after pill. Since California law allows anyone over the age of 18 to obtain Plan B or what is commonly known as the Morning After Pill from a pharmacy without a prescription, it has become the latest must have among our youth today.
Call any pharmacy to inquire about this pill and some will tell you that it is sold out. What this tells us is that some people without fully understanding the pill’s restrictions and possible complications are over using it as a form of emergency contraception and what they don’t know could cause severe harm.
We do not provide the Morning After Pill, however we do give information about it so that they may see the dangers such an option provides. HPC does not endorse this pill or any other abortion related methods. This young teenage girl was under 18 and was planning to have an older friend purchase the pill for her the following day. When we talked, this young girl realized that it could be detrimental for her health if she were to take the pill due to its restrictions. We can only imagine what could have happened if this information were not properly relayed to this young girl prior to her taking it. A few weeks later we received a phone call from the same young girl who thanked us for giving her the information and support needed to help her make the best decision.
As you know when we are in crisis we don’t choose the time or place of when it will happen. It may be a result of an unplanned, careless decision, but that very decision can lead to a more devastating choice. That is why it is necessary for this ministry to exist. We strive to help those who are in crisis, for those men and women who call at 9:30 at night distressed and worried. This is not a 9:00- to 5:00 business; it is a 24 hour ministry and each one of you help give hope and life to someone. |

A second chance (return to top)
We have learned that God’s timing is perfect. We had just finished a child birth class at our center and when everyone left we received a phone call from a client who sounded distressed and anxious to come in. Shortly after her call this woman came in to have a pregnancy test. When she observed her positive test results she appeared overwhelmed yet relieved. This woman explained she had an abortion when she was 19 and as a result experienced the devastating complications of that decision.
She said she thought she may never conceive again and because of her abortion she assumed she was doomed “with bad karma” (her words) for the rest of her life. We know our Lord is a loving and just God and he does not repay us as our sins deserve.
As it says in Psalms 103: 8-10 “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in Love. He will not always accuse, nor will He harbor his anger forever; He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.”
It was a true blessing from God to be able to witness this woman’s happiness and second chance to have a child of her own. |

June 2007 Update (return to top)
As you can see from our May client statistics, we are serving more and more women and families who are in crisis. We witnessed several changes of heart and confirmed one saved life. To God be the Glory.
While our mission is to save lives and help those who are pregnant know all of their life affirming options; it is also our mission to encourage those who are not pregnant to make positive changes that will prevent another crisis situation. At HPC we are given the opportunity to educate our clients about the dangers of having premarital sex. There is not only the risk of pregnancy but also the chance of contracting a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD). The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has estimated in their STD Surveillance 2005:
19 million new infections occur each year, almost half of them are among young people ages 15 to 24. In addition to the physical and psychological consequences of STDs these diseases also exact a tremendous economic toll. Direct medical costs associated with STDs in the United States are estimated at up to $14.1 billion annually. 2004 National STD Prevention Conference. Philadelphia, PA March 8-11, 2004 P075
Let us face these challenges together and continue the fight in building a stronger community. |

A Change of Hearts (return to top)
At Horizon Pregnancy Center we are not just interested in helping those women facing an unplanned pregnancy, but also the family members that are affected by this crisis. One night we received a phone call from a mother who wanted to schedule an appointment for her 18 year old daughter who she thought was pregnant. The mother initially stated she wanted her daughter to know all of her options before making a final decision. However, later the parents came into the center before their daughter’s appointment in an attempt to convince us that abortion was the best option for their daughter and hoped we could encourage her to have an abortion.
While talking through the situation the parents had a change of heart and decided that abortion was not the best choice for their daughter considering her circumstance. After meeting with the daughter and discussing all of her options she made her own decision to keep the baby. The parents honored their daughter’s decision and offered to support her. It is always wonderful to witness hearts transforming and families working together to support a new life and a new beginning. |

July 2007 Update (return to top)
How much is one life worth?
The answer to this question is not a dollar amount or an estimated value. Most of us would agree that life does not carry a price tag and we cannot simply put a monetary number on life. In the book of Matthew, Jesus speaks the Parable of the Lost Sheep to remind us how the Lord cherishes each life.
If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost. Matthew 18:12-14
In the same way we cherish every single life. At Horizon Pregnancy Center we have the privilege of being part of lives changed and babies saved. On June 28th, at 5:05 PM, Audrey Brooklyn Robbins was born, 8 lbs, 5 oz and 19.5” long. Melissa Robbins was our first client at HPC and has been a strong supporter of HPC, volunteering to give her testimony as an encouragement to others in a similar situation. Many of you were blessed to hear Melissa’s story at our 2nd Annual Banquet. Clearly, we don’t release any information on any client or their choice and we are grateful for Melissa’s courage to volunteer and be a Spokesperson of Life. May the Lord Bless all who enter our doors. |

Start a Baby Bottle Campaign at your Church (return to top)
One of the many ways we raise support to sustain our ministry is through the Church Baby Bottle Campaign. Last year Shorelife Church started the campaign on Mother’s day. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to get their whole family involved in giving and helping new mother’s and father’s with babies. Children especially found great joy in helping to fill the baby bottles with loose change and family donations. Those who took the bottles home returned them the following month on Father’s day. This year, Shorelife did it again raising nearly $2000. Praise God for his provision and we invite all of our partner churches and individual supporters to start a campaign sometime this year. |

Baby Shower Blessing (return to top)
For those clients who choose to keep and raise their baby we offer childbirth and parenting classes to help prepare and support them throughout their pregnancy, as well as after their baby is born.
After they complete the childbirth class series it is our hope that we can provide a baby shower for our new mothers. Through the help of many loving and encouraging women and the Park Day Home school group we had our first baby shower. It was a great time for fellowship, blessing our new mother and giving glory to God for His miracle. |

August Volunteer of the Month (return to top)
HPC and all our new “mothers to be” are blessed to have Barbara Williams as our Child Birth Educator and “Doula” Labor Assistant. Barbara has been generously giving her time and gifts to help educate women during their pregnancy and prepare them for their labor as well as assist them with post-partum care after their baby is born.
Barbara is a California Licensed Vocational Nurse. She has served in labor and delivery, newborn and post-partum care at various Los Angeles hospitals, often attending to high risk patients. Her joy of helping others is obvious in her warm, welcoming childbirth classes. The introductory classes are usually held at the center and the rest of the classes are taught in the comfort of Barbara’s home where she often serves home cooked meals.
Our childbirth classes are a wonderful way to build and maintain relationships with our clients after their baby is born. We are grateful for Barbara’s faithfulness to serve the Lord. |

Surf City Nights (return to top)

HPC was recently invited to participate in Huntington Beach’s “Surf City Nights”, a downtown street-fair event attracting people of all ages. While we had a booth with information about all our services, the main attraction was our “Wheel of Questions”, which gave everyone an opportunity to test their knowledge about pregnancy and fetal development. Many people were shocked to know the true facts of when human life begins. Numerous groups of high school and college age students came by and were astonished to see the little fetal models. You just have to ‘touch one’ to believe…
One college freshman male exclaimed, “It really makes you wonder about abortion, I always thought it was okay, but now I have an even stronger reason not to have sex until marriage.” There were many conversations like this among students and families who brought their children to our table to learn about God’s magnificent creation of life that begins before we were born. We know this is true as the Lord said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5.
We praise God for the opportunity to share truth and provide a safe place of hope for those who are in crisis. |

Hpc Sign sponsored by Hope Chapel (return to top)
l
As a non profit ministry everything that we are blessed with, from our carpet to our doors has been donated by generous individuals, businesses and churches. The long needed HPC sign above our office is a tribute to the Women’s Ministry at Hope Chapel Church in Huntington Beach. (http://www.hopechapelhb.org/index.php). Ainsley Harmon, Pastor Paul’s wife saw we had a need and offered to help get us a sign by having a women’s ministry fundraiser. We would like to thank Hope Chapel and all of our faithful supporters for making this “sign” the miracle it is! |

We need your Help! (return to top)
A young high school girl thinks she might be pregnant. She went to a party, got drunk and woke up in an unfamiliar place and can’t remember what she did that night. Although this sounds extreme and we hope and pray this never happens to our own children. The reality is that this happens more than we can ever imagine.
According to a survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation, a quarter of teens report having gone further than they intended in a sexual situation while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. And nearly 1 in 5 sexually active teens said they were using drugs or alcohol when they lost their virginity.
At HPC we have had students as young as 13 contact us from two (2) of the four (4) local high schools. We have asked the Huntington Beach Unified School district if we could speak at our high schools and educate our students about the risks of having sex and the benefits of practicing abstinence before marriage. However, the school district has declined our request to empower our youth to make healthy and positive choices.
It is up to us to make a difference and we need your help.
In order to increase the awareness of our services, we are going to be placing three (3), 2’ X 7’ Bus-Bench ads, strategically located across from local HB High Schools. Our efforts will cost over $900 for a 6-month period. The benches will be located across from Edison, Ocean View and Marina High Schools.
You can help us in this effort by sponsoring a bench monthly or a full-term. Sponsorship opportunities are:
| Monthly Bench Sponsorship: |
$50/month, [1-6 months] |
| Full Term Bench Sponsorship: |
$300/6 months |
| Bench Printing and Installation: |
$100/bench |

A little miracle (return to top)

17 Weeks from last menstrual period
A couple came in requesting information about a 2nd trimester abortion. The client was 17 weeks pregnant and was scheduled to have an abortion the next day. The couple shared that they did not know they were pregnant and if they had known earlier, they would have had an abortion with little concern. The client being in her 2nd trimester knew the gender of the baby, but because she felt financially burdened she believed abortion was her only option. As she learned more about adoption and the possible risks of abortion, she and her boyfriend made the decision to carry their baby to term. We thank God for protecting this precious little baby and for the parents who made a courageous decision. |

Three of HPC’s clients benefited from this all day event filled with work shops and inspirational speakers such as Kathy Ireland and Pastor Pancho Juarez. Each young mother received a mentor to help guide them through their new journey.
Of the three (3) HPC clients that participated, all were pregnant and able to learn about Job & Career Tips, Financial Planning, Health Care and Domestic Violence Prevention. They also received many items such as a car seat and a child-safety/car seat class. We were very blessed to be a part of this great program that helps our young mothers. |

With a Thankful Heart (return to top)

As we approach the holiday season, and with Thanksgiving around the corner we start to reflect on our blessings and the people for whom we are thankful. Here at Horizon Pregnancy Center we have had many blessings from God that we are thankful for, including you our supporters.
Recently we received a thank you letter and donation from one of our clients. Although that is not typical, it brought joy to us to know that we are helping and making a difference in people’s lives. Many times our clients, the women and their family and friends have thanked us for our services and our caring support, but truly they are thanking you, our supporters and volunteers who make this place a ministry. We wish to extend this gratitude to you.
Our ministry could not survive without you and we praise God for your partnership. |

Hear what is going on at Horizon from our volunteers. (return to top)
Hi, I’m Dee Dee Khakbaz, a home school Mom of three. I help facilitate a Huntington Beach Home school support group called Park day. Our group was thrilled about discovering Horizon Pregnancy Center right here in Huntington Beach. My prayer partner, Carolyn Byrne, and I had been praying for years for such a place to exist in our hometown! When we found out about the center we were so grateful to the Lord for answering our prayers and our faith increased!!! We sought ways to show our support.
One of the needs Horizon had was for baby showers for the new moms-to-be! We got really excited about this since we all love parties and making them happen to glorify the Lord; seeing lives saved even made it more awesome! Our group gathered baby shower supplies together, chose one of our homes for the shower, and before we know it we are enjoying meeting new moms and their families and blessing them with a special shower just for them and their babies!!!
We have enjoyed so much making munchies and cake and decorating with cute baby decorations and preparing brief devotionals with prayer for the moms-to-be, making it very special in the Lord for them. It's also been our joy to bless them graciously with some baby items they’ve really needed.
Furthermore, our home schooling daughters have enjoyed being a part of these showers, helping with decorations and refreshments and being a support to these soon-to-be moms!!! We have enjoyed receiving happy loving smiles and heartfelt thanks from them and we pray for lifetime friendships with them. We are anticipating more showers ahead with Horizon Pregnancy Center and we are so glad to be a part of this life-saving ministry for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
-Dee Dee Khakbaz, Baby Shower Support Team
It is such a blessing to be a volunteer at Horizon, teaching childbirth classes for our clients. I truly enjoy teaching and helping women become well educated and prepared for childbirth
-Barbara Williams, Childbirth Educator
As a volunteer at Horizon Pregnancy Center it is actually possible to change the life of an unborn child. When you talk face to face with young men and ladies and introduce them to the "facts", they will then hopefully think twice about what to do if faced with an unwanted pregnancy. It is a great feeling to know that meeting these young adults may save a life!

Baby Aubrey and Mom (return to top)

Can you look at the picture of this baby and not say, “How Precious”? Imagine this baby as your own, may be a grandchild, niece or nephew. Could you picture your life without them?
“I can’t imagine my life without this precious little miracle…”
These are the exact words of a grandmother who wanted her teen age daughter to abort her baby. This grandmother goes on to say, “This baby has brought so much joy to our broken home, she is a miracle of hope to our family.” This is why Horizon exists. This is why we give the thanks to you, but the Glory to God!

Roe v. Wade changed the course of American history (return to top)
On January 22, 1973 the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 7-2 in support of abortion. For some, the anniversary of that day brings about a celebration. However, for those of us who cherish life, we look at that day as a tragedy and a reminder to continue the fight to save lives. This year, January 20th, known nationally as “Sanctity of Life Sunday”, is a day to focus on the sanctity and the very preciousness of life. We need you to get involved and continue to partner with us to save and protect lives like precious baby Aubrey. |

It’s a boy! (return to top)
On December 19, 2007 baby Lathan was born. Mom, who was one of our very fist clients and only 18 at the time, came to us with her parents who found us online and had hoped that we would convince their daughter to have an abortion. Instead they went home convinced they needed to support their daughter’s decision to continue the pregnancy. Now, we have very proud and happy grandparents and a new mother that enjoys every moment with her son. Please pray that we can continue to minister to our new moms in their new journey in life. |

Meet our new “Great to Wait” Speaker (return to top)

Seychelle Kelly and her son Dominic are a new addition to the HPC family. Seychelle came to our ministry determined to volunteer and help women faced with a decision, she once encountered as a teen. Now Seychelle has a 19 month son who she adores and believes is the miracle that brought her back to the Lord.
Seychelle has found her niche in our ministry as our Abstinence Educator. She uses her real life experience, God’s grace and the truth to deliver a message of hope to our young people who are searching for answers. Seychelle has an extraordinary gift to relate to teens and encourage them to make positive choices. With Seychelle, HPC has had the opportunity to speak to community bible study groups as well the Grand Grove Police Department Mentoring Program. We are so blessed to have her part of our team. |

What is pain? (return to top)
At HPC, we understand the answer to that question oh too well, as we see women and families everyday broken and suffering over the regret of having an abortion. We live in a society where abortion has become the norm, an expected response to a careless decision. We have been conditioned to respond to the act of abortion by simply saying to a wounded woman “it was the right thing to do in your circumstance,” or “don’t worry you will have kids when the time is right for you.”
The fact is that the post abortive woman doesn’t need or want to hear these cliché phrases, but yearns to be forgiven and set free from their guilt, depression, anger, loneliness and the other symptoms associated with post abortion.
Recently, we had a client come in to our center that just had an abortion. She told us that she was depressed, angry at her boyfriend who left her and could not forgive herself. Can you imagine someone living in this anguish for the rest of their life? Our hope is that we can minister to women and help them find forgiveness and hope through Jesus Christ. |

Luke 11:9-10 (return to top)
Jesus says, “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”As we provide support to women and families faced with an unplanned pregnancy, we strive to meet both their physical and spiritual needs. Recently, a young family was in need of a crib for their expectant baby. Shortly after expressing their concern, we received a phone call from a supporter who said they had a crib and toddler bed that they wanted to donate. This was a perfect opportunity to share Christ with this expecting mom and dad, allowing them to see how God provides and cares for each of us. As for the toddler bed, the next day a different woman called and shared she had been homeless with her two toddler twins. After finding permanent residence, she needed a bed for her children who were sleeping on the floor. Once again God provided a perfect match and opportunity to share His love and provision.
As you may know we do not store baby furniture, however we take every opportunity to share Christ and operate as a ministry. We have seen God provide beds, bassinettes, strollers, highchairs, and most importantly an opportunity for life… |

2008 Milestone (return to top)
In February we experienced another record client intake and phone call referrals. In January 2007, we prayed for one client a week. God has superseded that request. Although we may not see every client we speak to on the phone, we are able to provide options counseling and referrals to obtain an ultra sound and other services on a daily basis. Thank you for your support and helping us reach our goals. |

3rd Annual Horizon Pregnancy Center Banquet (return to top)
Have you received your ‘Save-the-Date’ card? Did you attend one of our prior banquets? Well, you don’t want to miss this year’s 3rd Annual HPC Banquet.
Would you like to see HPC offer its clients real life images of the life they are holding?
Would you like HPC to offer prenatal and diagnostic care to its patients?
So would we! But it’s not that easy…in order for us to provide all of those services and more, we must become a licensed medical clinic, and that’s not an overnight task.
Over the last 3 years we have been blessed to see so many clients, providing loving, caring, options counseling. The article above is affirmation alone that God wants us to see more clients and offer more services. It’s time to begin the transition of offering ‘options’ to offering ‘images.’ Hence, the theme of this year’s Banquet: Options to Images, Center to Clinic.
Join us Thursday, May 8th from 6:30 to 9:00
PM, at Meadowlark Country Club and learn more about how and
why we need to make this blessed transition. Ticket prices
remain at $50.00 per person (seats are limited). You can register online
or call the center at 714.442.9699.
